Desi Charades-Masti Starts Now (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the Desi Charades-Masti Starts Now mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we use permissions, handle data, and protect your information when you use our App.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Overview

Desi Charades-Masti Starts Now is a group gameplay application. To provide the best experience, the App communicates with our secure servers via API to download the latest game decks. While we do not collect personal identities (like names or emails), the App processes technical identifiers and local gameplay data to function correctly.

All media (videos/audio) remains stored locally on your device unless you choose to share it manually. All data processing for media occurs on-device only.

2. Permissions We Use

Camera

Purpose: To record gameplay videos during charades sessions. Recording only occurs when the user actively starts gameplay. The App does not access the camera in the background.

Microphone

Purpose: To record audio along with gameplay videos. The App does not record audio in the background and only records during active gameplay sessions initiated by the user.

Media Selection (System Photo Picker)

Purpose: To allow you to select and view gameplay videos. Instead of requesting broad access to your entire media library, the App uses the Android Photo Picker, a privacy-oriented system tool. This ensures the App only accesses the specific video files you explicitly select and does not have access to your private gallery or other files.

Motion Sensors / Activity Recognition

Purpose: To detect device tilt and motion (using accelerometer/gyroscope) for gameplay interactions, such as marking a correct guess or passing a card.

Internet & Billing

Purpose: To enable secure in-app purchases through Google Play Billing and to fetch updated game content/decks from our servers via encrypted HTTPS connections.

Vibration

Purpose: To provide haptic feedback during gameplay.

3. How Your Data is Used

  • Technical Data: We process technical identifiers (such as Device IDs) and App Activity data solely to deliver game content via our API and verify in-app purchases. This data is encrypted in transit.
  • Gameplay Media: Videos and audio recordings are created and stored locally. When you choose to view or share a video, the App uses secure system pickers to handle the request. We do not access, upload, or store your media on any external server.
  • No Tracking: We do not use advertising IDs or third-party analytics to track, profile, or identify our users.

4. In-App Disclosure

Before requesting access to the camera and microphone, the App displays a prominent in-app disclosure. Users must explicitly provide affirmative consent by accepting this disclosure before the system permission request is triggered. Permissions are never requested without user awareness.

5. In-App Purchases

  • Purchases are handled securely by Google Play.
  • We do not collect or store payment information (like credit card numbers).
  • Billing data is managed entirely by the platform providers.

6. Third-Party Services

We only use platform-essential services such as Google Play Billing and standard device APIs. We do not use advertising SDKs, marketing trackers, or third-party data collection services.

7. Data Security

  • All gameplay media and progress data are stored locally on your device.
  • We rely on device-level security provided by Android.
  • API communications are secured using industry-standard encryption (HTTPS).

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. All gameplay recordings remain under the control of the device owner.

9. User Control & Data Deletion

  • Permissions: You can deny or revoke camera or microphone permissions anytime via device settings. Because we use the system Photo Picker for media selection, the App does not require or maintain a persistent "Storage" or "Media" permission.
  • Local Data: You can delete all locally stored videos and game progress by uninstalling the App or clearing the App’s storage in your device settings.
  • Data Deletion Requests: Although we do not require user accounts, we are committed to your privacy. If you wish to request the deletion of technical data logs (such as device identifiers associated with API logs), please contact us at charadesdesi@gmail.com. We will fulfill all valid deletion requests in accordance with Google Play policy.

10. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when required by law or platform policies. Updates will be reflected in the App listing and on this policy page.
