Desi Charades-Masti Starts Now (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the Desi Charades-Masti Starts Now mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we use permissions, handle data, and protect your information when you use our App.

1. Overview

Desi Charades-Masti Starts Now is a group gameplay application. To provide the best experience, the App communicates with our secure servers via API to download the latest game decks and uses third-party services to support in-app purchases and advertisements. While we do not collect direct personal identifiers (such as names or email addresses), the App and its integrated SDKs process certain technical identifiers and device information to function, serve ads, and process billing.

All gameplay media (videos and audio) recorded during sessions remain stored locally on your device unless you choose to share them manually. All media processing occurs on-device only.

2. Permissions We Use

  • Camera: Used strictly to record gameplay videos during active charades sessions. Recording only occurs when the user starts gameplay; the App does not access the camera in the background.

  • Microphone: Used to record audio alongside gameplay videos during active sessions. The App never records audio in the background.

  • Media Selection (System Photo Picker): Allows you to select and view saved gameplay videos. By using the Android Photo Picker, the App accesses only the specific files you select without requiring broad access to your entire media library.

  • Motion Sensors / Activity Recognition: Detects device tilt and motion (via accelerometer/gyroscope) for core gameplay interactions, such as tilting to pass or mark a correct guess.

  • Internet & Network State: Enables the App to fetch updated game decks, process in-app purchases via Google Play Billing, and serve advertisements via Google AdMob.

  • Advertising ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID): Used by Google Mobile Ads SDK to serve relevant ads, prevent ad fraud, and track ad performance in accordance with Google Play policies.

  • Vibration: Provides haptic feedback during gameplay interactions.

3. How Your Data is Used

  • Gameplay Media: Videos and audio recordings are stored exclusively on your device. We do not access, upload, host, or transfer your recordings to any external server.

  • App Functionality & Content: We process technical identifiers (such as device IDs) to serve dynamic deck content through our API and verify in-app purchases via Google Play Billing.

  • Advertising & Analytics: Through Google AdMob, technical and diagnostic data (such as Android Advertising ID, general location based on IP address, and ad interaction metrics) is processed to display ads, prevent fraud, and measure campaign effectiveness.

4. Third-Party Services & Advertising

The App integrates trusted third-party SDKs that may collect information used to identify your device:

  • Google Play Services / Google Play Billing: Used for core platform services and handling in-app purchases securely without collecting your financial details.

  • Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display banner, interstitial, or rewarded ads within the App. AdMob may automatically collect and process:

    • Device & Account Identifiers: Android Advertising ID (GAID), App Set ID.

    • General Location: IP address (used to infer coarse/general location for localized ads).

    • Usage & Diagnostics: Interaction data (ad impressions, clicks), launch times, and performance diagnostics.

5. In-App Purchases

All purchases are handled securely by Google Play. We do not collect, process, or store payment details (such as credit card numbers or billing addresses). All financial transactions are managed entirely by Google.

6. In-App Disclosure & Consent

Before requesting sensitive device permissions (such as Camera and Microphone), the App displays a prominent in-app disclosure detailing why the feature is needed. Access is requested only after you grant explicit affirmative consent.

7. Advertising Choices & Opt-Out

You have control over how your data is used for advertising:

  • Reset or Delete Advertising ID: You can reset or delete your device’s Advertising ID at any time via Settings > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Ads on your Android device.

  • Personalized Ads Opt-Out: You can manage your ad personalization preferences by visiting Google Ad Settings.

8. Data Security

We apply industry-standard practices to protect data:

  • All network communications (API requests, billing, and ad requests) use encrypted HTTPS/TLS protocols in transit.

  • Personal gameplay media never leaves your device storage unless you explicitly export or share it through external applications.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If our ad requests are configured for age-restricted audiences or child-directed treatment, advertising identifiers and personalized tracking are automatically restricted in compliance with Google Play's Families Policy.

10. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Local Data: You can delete all locally saved recordings and game progress at any time by clearing the App's storage via your device settings or by uninstalling the App.

  • Deletion Requests: Because we do not require account registration, we do not hold user profiles. If you would like to request the deletion of any transient technical logs (such as IP or device logs recorded on API servers), please email us at charadesdesi@gmail.com. We will process valid requests within standard compliance timeframes.
